Περίληψη

Based on the novel by Nell Dunn and starring Carol White (Up the Junction, Cathy Come Home) in the title role, Poor Cow is the story of a young woman in 1960's London who tries to cope while her husband Tom (John Bindon), a small time thief, is in prison. Clutching at any slight chance of happiness, she has a promiscuous relationship with his best friend Dave (Terence Stamp), which leads to heart breaking consequences. Poor Cow is a poignant, controversial slice of raw social realism, and in true Ken Loach (Kes, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, I, Daniel Blake) style, is an imaginative exploration of the thin line separating fiction and real-life. Poor Cow was Loach's first feature film and first attempt to bring the social concerns and uncompromising style of his TV work to the big screen.
